Perpetual Calendar - November

Here is November of my calendar. I have to say that I have found 2 new AMAZING products that I love-love-love.

KAndrew turned me on to Tombo adhesive so I went to check my Hobby Lobby and they do sell it Yeah. I also saw that they have a glue pen. It looks just like a bic pen but it's filled with glue instead of ink and this thing is great for the tiny little pieces of this calendar. You can just put a pin point of glue on something and it doesn't seep out the edges. It is so great.

The next thing I was wanting was a good pair of tweezers and I found some TweezerBee tweezers by Cutter Bee and they are great because you squeeze the middle to make the claws open and when you let go they clamp on tight to the paper so when you are trying to put glue on something your hand is not getting cramped keeping tweezers held tight to the paper. I wanted to see how well they worked on something thin so I grabbed a hair that was on my shirt (I swear I'm going bald with all the hair falling out of my head) and then I tried pulling the hair out of the tweezers and it broke the hair. AMAZING

Challenge Card

I am using this card for 2 challenges. I am hoping it is okay to do that.

The first is Inking It Up Crazy. It is for "The cartridge I use Least". I only have 3 carts but the one I chose was Stretch You Imagination because I bought it at Menards a few weeks ago and have not used it yet.

The second challenge is on My Pink Stamper.  It is to make something using a bird.

I have a photo of my brother-in-law and neice to put on this card and give to them but I'm not too sure my BIL would like it posted for the public so I took the pictures before I added the photo.

I ran the base of the squirrel and nuts through my xyron and then attached the silhouette. That left the middle still sticky and I poured glitter over the whole thing. The turkey card is from the same cartridge also.

The Wheels on the Bus

This school bus was made for my grandson's kindergarten teacher. I used my Chomas Creations gel pens to write her name on all of the note cards. I glued a picture of my grandkids in the front window and used glossy accents to make it look like glass. I used stickles for the eyes and buttons of the owls and used a white Opaque Stix for the wording.

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge 37

I did this layout for the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge and had a lot of fun. They provided a sketch and the only requirement was to use Kraft cardstock which is the horizontal strip and I inked it up to look a little como-ish (don't think that is even a word). This picture was taken back in 2006 and I am so glad that I can finally do something fun with it. I have so many pictures on my hard drive but none of them are printed out.

Grands having fun

I was at Hobby Lobby today with the grandkids and they have stickers 50% off so they picked out their own stickers. When we got home I gave them each a piece of cardstock and set them free. They are so proud of their first layouts. Bryce made a double sider. :-)

My 1st Blog Candy

Next Sunday is my birthday (I will be 21......again) so I thought it would be a good time for some fun. All you need to do is become a follower on my blog and leave me a little comment. I will have my grandson draw a number next Sunday and that will be the lucky poster.

At this time I am very sorry but I can only ship within the U.S.

A little edit because I was looking at August calendar and my b-day isn't until Wednesday but I will still have the drawing on the 26th.

Perpetual Calendar - October

For the past couple of days I have been working on making the Calendar I bought from R S Mobleys Designs. I planned and cut and screwed up so I planned again.
I used my Amy Chomas gel pen tool to write the numbers for the dates instead of piecing them which turned out pretty cool. I think I might color them in but not sure yet.

I cut all the pieces for the 3 base layers and made a template so that they would all end up pretty close to being positioned the same. (12 months + 14 numbers x 3 layers) hubby says I'm OCD.
I then moved on to cutting the pieces for October and realized just how small this project was going to be. I had to use tweezers and squint. LOL To give you an idea I took my calipers and the pumpkin in the ghosts hand is .18" x .25" The yellow top layer is 2 1/4" square.

It is small but I think it is really really cool. I sill have some embellishing to do but here is a picture on my mat so you can see the size.

New Halloween Layout

Some may say it looks a little funny because of the colors but I figured one side can have a picture of Bryce and the other for Kylie. They are 2 totally different kids so different layouts will be great. I got the cut files from the September Grab Bag at Visual Design by Chris and they were designed by K Andrew Designs.

The poor cat it the middle got a work out. I was setting it up and used pop dots (they stick really good and really fast) and forgot that the moon goes behind the cats so I had to rip him up then I remembered there was a layer behind the yellow moon so I had to pull it up again. I did finish and I thought it looked good then I went to stand it up to take a picture and realized I didn't tape the blue piece down so I had to tip it up without bending the wording at the top.

I do hope I get better but I am still learning alot and having fun doing it. By the way the "Your Story" machine is doing great. I laminated the cutting guide that I got from AboveRubiesStudio and nothing went wrong. Yeah!

Wedding Gift

Today I finished a gift for a guy my hubby works with.  He is getting married Saturday.

I saw the candle idea on Denise's Scrapbooking Room. She put the couples photo, name and date or her candle and said next time she would use the text from the invitation and I thought that was a great idea. I etched a saying on the bottom of the glass holder (my first ever etching).

The card is a combination of 2 different cards from Wanda's Crafts.  I put some silver glitter acrylic paint around the rings on the front to make them stand out and then filled them in with glossy accents. Wal Mart had a bunch of things on clearance so I got some Martha Stewart embossing powder and a set of Stampology stamps really cheap and I stamped the "always" on the front and embossed it (another first for me). I found a poem online that I printed on vellum and ran through the sticker maker for the inside. Now I just need to figure out an envelope and bag to put it all in.

First challenge and First follower

Yippy!!! I finished the layout for my first challenge at K Andrew Designs. She also became my first follower today. (technically yesterday since it is past midnight) I was so excited.

It was so much fun working on this project. I used some files from her store because I don't have many carts. I heard about the sale at Menards so I told Morgan the first thing when I woke up that I wanted to go. They only had 4 available but I got "Stretch your Imagination".  They had 2 with alphabets and I can't remember the other one. I liked it also but Morgan was with me and I think he would have shot me if I got both of them. My main selling point when I got the Cricut was that I wouldn't have to spend money on carts because I got SCAL so I only have the one I got today and the one that came with the machine. Slow and steady wins the race though. :-)

I used black vinyl because I don't have ANY black paper (can you believe it) I also used some glow in the dark vinyl for the windows and traced the ghost with glow in the dark paint. The whole layout is on an 8 x 10 canvas panel that I got at Wal Mart. They had 3 - 3 packs for less than $4. I couldn't believe it, that is only about 44 cents a piece and you can't get a good piece of background paper for that price. I just need to get a picture to add to it and make another one so that Bryce and Kylie each have their own.

Can you tell I have a little bit of ADD with my bouncy thoughts. Sometimes I can't keep up myself.
