Simply Sunday Challenge: Summer-time Fun

This Simply Sunday Challenge at Getting Cricky is all about Summer-time Fun.
You have until July 9th to enter so head on over and link up your project.
This card was so much fun to make and I didn't even use my cutter.
I used the Splashtastic Summer stamp set from K. Andrew Designs to stamp the sentiment and punch it out with a scalloped oval Fiskars punch. The grass is a Fiskars border punch. I stamped the flowers using PK-229 Funny Flowers from Peachy Keen Stamps. I stamped the center flower on printer paper and cut it out. I then stamped it on my cardstock. I used repositionable tape on the back of the printer paper flower and covered up the one I stamped on my cardstock. Then I stamped the flowers on each side of the middle one and took off the printer paper so the two outside flowers look like they are behind the middle one without the messy overlap of lines. I think they call this "masking". It is not a new technique but it sure is a COOL technique. I colored the flowers in with my Memory pencils and chomped the corners of the card. Sure feels like summer to me. :-)

Ribbon Holder & Appreciation Notes

I tried several different ways of organizing all my ribbons and think I finally found something that will work for me. This very colorful container started out full of Cheez Balls. (the grandkids love them and we go through several of these containers) I poked holes all over and put all my pretty ribbons in. To cover up the label (which doesn't come off cleanly) I cut a piece of cardstock the same size. I then found a poem about a ribbon and printed it on cardstock. I used 3 stamps from K. Andrew Designs "Positive Thoughts" stamp set and it all turned out so so cute. Very useful and pretty to look at also. Who could ask for more. lol
I have been teaching classes at my local sewing shop and thought it would be a nice extra to give students a little card for attending my classes. I used the "Amazing You" and "Positive Thoughts" stamp sets from K. Andrew Designs. I also used the "Retro Paper Doll Face Assortment" from Peachy Keen Stamps.

I finally talked the owner into letting me teach a card class (which will be tomorrow) that will incorporate embroidery into our card making. I am taking along all my K. Andrew Designs stamps and we are going to have a blast!!!

Action Wobble Chats

The other day I went to the mailbox and to my surprise I had received 2 of these COOL Action Wobble Chat samples. These are so fun. I attached one to a pillow box and had fun writing different things on it. I am going to make another one and give them to my 2 older grandkids for 4th of July. I made up a couple of flowers and stamped faces on them from the PKS "Happy New Year" assortment. I will be making baseballs for my grandson. (I don't think he is in to flowers much) lol

Simply Sunday Challenge

I missed last Sunday's challenge but it was so worth it because I have a new baby grand daughter now and have been very busy with her and my other 2 grand kids. I am back for this week's Simply Sunday Challenge over at Getting Cricky. The challenge this week is to use a pen somewhere in your project so I used my gel pens to make the "Cute as a Button" buttons.
Kristal is also giving away something from Contain-Ya Crafts (I am so so so hoping to win). They have a couple of really awesome things I would just love to get my mitts on and I'm sure you would love them too.

So you all need to head over to her blog Getting Cricky to check everything out. She is one of the most generous people and such a fantastic lady. Her blog was the first one I ever started following and I am so very glad I did!!!

You've got purse-onality!

I am so stinkin' thrilled!!! My Getting Cricky stamps came in the mail Monday and I was finally able to play with them yesterday. I used the Fashionable Friends stamp set along with my new Sizzix Bigz Purse die. I just have to say this is so dang cuuuuute.

Kristal's stamps are so adorable and they stamp so clean and easy. I was so excited when I heard the news that she came out with her own stamp line and BAM I had to order them immediately. You need to go check them out. She also donates to charity with the sale of each set so you are not only getting awesome stamps you are also helping some folks in need.

Baby Announcements

Announcements I made for Aleah.
(Ali Bear is our newest grand daughter)
The little Teddy Bear is a quicklet eyelet from Eyelet Outlet.
The booties are from the Stork's Delivery cartridge and the baby mesh on the front is from RSMobleys Designs. I ran it through my Xyron and put the mesh on the front then sprinkled on the glitter.
The sentiment is from Pink by Design's "Baby Love" stamp set.
