Last Card of the Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Here in my neck of the woods we still have 20 minutes until the New Year. This has been such an awesome crafty 4 months. I have met some really wonderful folks and am having such fun with my blog. I am hoping that 2011 will bring some really amazing things for everyone.

The last 3 months have been really hard for my daughter and grandkids and I am praying that it gets a lot better for them in the New Year. The other day I came in the house with the mail and my daughter asked if she got anything and then my grandson said, "Did I get anything?" That got me to thinking about how he and his sister might get their spirits lifted by getting some regular mail so I decided that I am going to make them cards and send them through the mail. Today they got newletters from the church addressed to them personally and you should have seen their faces so that confirmed my decision.

I made this card with the Four Legged Friends cartridge for my grandson. His name is spelled with some metal letters from Spare Parts and the sentiment is from My Pink Stamper "Even More Punny-licious".

Perpetual Calendar Finished

Well I got them all finished in time to give when we celebrated on Sunday. I had so much fun making this calendar and they are such amazing cuts. My mom loved it when she opened it.

I added a couple of gems to the posts for a little bling.

This is exactly how my hubby mows the lawn.

I added a couple of butterflies flying around the picnic.

I sprayed Sheer Shimmer Spritz on the chalkboard and I think it looks a little like left over chalk dust.

The twine that I ordered from The Twinery came in the mail on Friday just as I finished this page so I was able to use some for his belt and he looks so cute.

I added a little white gel pen to the roof and tree to make some frost and some gold glitter pen to the moon and pumpkin faces for some glow. It really looks like those pumpkins have a candle inside.

This little lady looks too darn cute to even think about eating for Thanksgiving dinner. I added gems around the frame also.

Perpetual Calendar - February - March - April

I fear that I may not get my entire calendar finished before Christmas.  I am ahead of the current month so I guess I can give it to my mom and then finish it a little at a time or kick it into high gear and get 2 done each day.
I ran the base layer of the heart through my Xyron and attached the top layer and then heat embossed the remaining that was sticky. I put a metal gem in the middle of each one of the flowers and used my new tag maker (I looked everywhere for it and finally found it at Joann's online) to frame the sentiment which is from Pink by Design "Love Always" set.

There wasn't much added to this layout except a whole LOT of stitching. I also used pearlized paper for the gold and it really makes it shimmer.

I used a Gelly Roll metallic pen to highlight the flowers and white and black for the other stitching. I added a green gem from Hobby Lobby for the dot of the "i".

Wise Men Still Seek Him

Mom asked me to make some Christmas cards for her clients so I made these slider cards. I think they turned out so amazing. I used the "SL Christmas Silhouettes" font for the wise men and star. I printed the sentiment (mom came up with) and punched it out with my Stampin' Up window punch.

My Pink Stamper Challenge

This is Day 2 of Robyn's "12 Days of Christmas" and she is having a challenge. The rules are to use 2 shades of pink, 2 shades of blue and black. It also has to be something you make just for this challenge. So I made this really cute Christmas card.

Martha Stewart punch for the icy snow
EK Success punch for the gingerbread girls
Peachy Keen Everyday Character Face Assortment

Merry Kissmas

This is my first real attempt at using a digital stamp and I think it turned out pretty darn cute. I think I stayed inside the lines pretty well. It helps when you have an amazing product to start out with. I am giving it to friends along with the Christmas ornaments that I made for them.

Kristal at KAndrew Designs has an awesome sale on her digital stamps and I couldn't resist buying them.  This one just jumped out at me and I am entering it in her Getting Cricky Simply Charming Challenge.

PINK BLOG CANDY

THIS POST WILL REMAIN 1ST UNTIL THE END OF NOVEMBER. PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO SEE NEW POSTS.

I have been very lucky lately and thought I would pass-it-along. I won a pink Fastenater Mini from KAndrew a little while ago and then I won another one from RSMobley and she said I could pass it along.  I absolutely love this gadget and all the different staples you can get for it.

Today I had a shopping spree at Hobby Lobby and picked up a few more things to add.

I have encluded some pink Jolee's "All That Bling" dimensional stickers, some Glamour Glitz hotfix rhinestones and iron-on nailheads.

You may be asking yourself, "How am I supposed to get this bling onto my projects?" Well I have got an Imaginisce i-rock heat setting tool to go along with all this awesome PINK!!

I am leaving this open for the month of November.
So all you need to do is:
1-Become a follower
2-Leave me a comment on this post
3-Pass the word along. You will get an extra entry for everyone you send over when they become a follower and leave me a comment saying you sent them.
At this time I am very sorry but I can only ship to the U.S.

Pink Winner

If someone can please let me know exactly how this random.org thing works I would appreciate it. :-o

So what I did was copy all the comments into a Word document and then took out all the duplicates and the 1 that I posted and then whenever someone mentioned they were sent by someone else (Yolie) :-) I put her name under the one that commented. I then entered the info into random.org but when I pasted the HTML code they gave me into this message the winning # didn't show so I took a screen shot of what was on their site and pasted the picture into this message. Congratulations to Susan from My Thoughts My Heart.

Playtime, Zoo Day, My Pink Stamper & Pink by Design

I had to try out all my new goodies so I made a birthday card for my cousin and a couple of other really quick cards to have on hand when I need one.

I also finally got my "Studio" cleaned up so I could unpack my Ramblin' Rose. Yep that is her name. My maternal grandmother Rose was a huge CBer when I was growing up and her handle was Ramblin' Rose. I can remember her always talking to the truckers and if we were lucky she would let us talk sometimes. She past away quite a few years ago but she is still in my heart. So I named my Expression in honor of my crafty grandma because I know she would be scrapping right along with me if she was still here.

As for the Studio comment... I heard one time that if you spend at least 4 days a week in your craft room you can officially call it a "Studio" so I have always joked to hubby about it.

My 1st Wal Mart Black Friday

Oh my gosh I am so thrilled right now. I just got back from Wal Mart!!! I unloaded my haul and took a picture first thing. I couldn't wait to share with everyone. I got 2 of everything hoping that maybe I can have some MAJOR candy later on.

Tara and I got there at 10:45 and went straight to the crafty isle and there were 2 huge boxes. We didn't know what each had inside but they were Cricut. Score nobody else was there so I parked myself and didn't move. Slowly a few more folks arrived and there was Tara and I and 2 other girls right next to the boxes and you know what curiosity does.

Slowly we started tearing the plastic little by little while watching for those nasty folks in the blue shirts. Tear some more, stop til they go by, tear some more, stop til they go by. Finally we got one of the cardboard sides off. We started asking what others were waiting for and handing out carts. Oh the excitement. The 2 Expressions that I wanted were right on top so I stashed them under Tara's coat so no nasty worker wouldn't make me put them back until 12:01. Got all the carts and 2 Expressions in my cart by 11:30 and at 11:45 all you heard through the store was this woosh of the packaging being removed from everything. Tara says lets go now so she pulled the cart with me behind through the store to check out and what do you think? Yep first one in line. We waited for 13 minutes til the registers would allow sale prices. It was so funny.

Drove through McDonalds to fuel up and headed home.

OK I need to go open my pretty pretty new toy but the problem is I can't decide which one.

First Video - not crafty related

I had to give this a try. Yesterday we got "Just Dance 2" for our Wii and we were having such a blast. If you have a Wii you have to own this game. It is quite a workout also (which I desperately need). When I told my soon to be X-son-in-law to sober up he told me to "thin up".

This is a video of my daughter and grandson having fun. Bryce got to stay up late since there is no school tomorrow YIPPEE! The kids will go with their dad for a few hours tomorrow and Friday, for his family celebrations, and we will have our celebrations on Saturday and Sunday, since this is Tara's weekend.

Precious Hugs and Happy Thanksgiving Everyone

Perpetual Calendar - January

This is such a festive page! I used glitter pens on all the fireworks and pop dotted them on. OK so I admit it.... I used glitter pens on EVERYTHING! Come on it's New Year's, the holiday that glitters. I dotted stickles on the party hat and glossy accents on the champagne glasses which I absolutely love. It truly looks like bubbly champagne. These glasses would also look awesome on a wedding page.

The design file I used is called January New Years from RS Mobleys Designs. I bought the Year Collection and got the Perpetual Calendar file free.

Luminaries

I absolutely adore these 3 little luminaries from RS Mobleys Designs. (Happy ThanksGiving - Turkey Luminary, Thanks - Acorn Luminary, Fall - Pumpkin Luminary) They are cut on Pearlized cardstock which makes them extra shimmery. I didn't have to do anything extra with these cut files because they are beautiful just the way they are.

I used the "Happy Thanksgiving" from one of the luminaries to add to an Acorn card from K Andrew Designs. I used my Cri-Kits gel pen to draw the face and colored it in with a Copic multiliner and white gel pen. I also added a few crystals between the words.

Snowman School

I put the burgandy hat together and my OCD kicked in so I put the pieces for the other hats on top of the burgandy one so they would all be the same. Well when I finished I realized my mistake and the other 4 hats were backwards so what else could this scene be called except "Snowman School".

The cut file for these adorable snowmen came from the dollar downloads section on Scrap Chick and the stamp is from Close to My Heart's Evergreen set. I used a glitter pen on the carrot nose and white gel pen on the hat and scarf. You can't tell from the picture but there is a Spare Parts polka dotted brad in the knot on the scarf. They turned out so cute.

Cricutless Thank You Card

I made this slider card (my very first) for Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge and gave it to my mom and dad tonight. I know that I don't say Thank You to them often enough and they are the absolute best, best, best parents in the universe.

They are going to be moving in with hubby and me when the contractor finishes our basement. They will pretty much have their own apartment except for sharing the kitchen. Since our daughter and 2 grandkids already live with us we will have 4 generations under the same roof. We are praying that the contractor will finally be finished before the New Year.

I used pearls from The Paper Studio, the flower is Paper Bliss Salon "Flower Garden" and the stamps are Fiskars "So Much Thanks/Merci Beaucoup". I used a window punch from Stampin' Up. I am now addicted to slider cards!!!

Sorry for rambling on.

Perpetual Calendar - December

I may have to temporarily abandon my 2 1/2 inch perpetual calendar. I cut all the pieces but some are just too intricate to be cut that small. I have not given up all hope but I want to give this calendar to my mom for Christmas this year so I am now making them 8x8 and they are cutting beautifully.

This is a cut file from RSMobleys Designs called December Snowman RM00103. I cut another snowman smaller so that neither of my grandkids feels left out and I will need to cut a baby snowman in June.

Their faces are from Peachy Keen Winter Face Assortment PK-520.
I used Gelly Roll glitter pens for the snowflakes, tree and December wording. The stitching was done with a white gel pen and Copic multiliner .03.
I added Glossy Accents to make an icy lake.
The "twinkle" stamp is from Stampology's Love Thing set and the frame is Papertrey Ink fillable frames #8.

Bryce's 4th Birthday

Since this has been birthday week for us here at home I made this layout for Bryce's 4th Birthday. I am also entering it into the GETTING CRICKY's CARTRIDGE CHALLENGE: BOYISH CHARMS.

I used my Gypsy for the very first time and it was sooooo much fun. Having all my cartridges in one place is just awesome.

The Astronaut came from the Paper Dolls for Everyday cartridge and all the other elements were also from the Astronaut layers. I did some stitching on the UFO and the Space Shuttle with my white Signo pen and the stitching on the space suit is Gelly Roll Silver Star pen. I used Spare Parts star brads on the corners of the pictures. The stickers on the shuttle are from the Paper Studio 100% BOY Sticker Pack. Last but certainly not least the paper is from the Paper Studio All Seasons paper pack. I love, love, love this paper and it fit the theme perfectly.

Mini Album

This album was made from 1 sheet of 8x8 cardstock. There were just enough slots for the pictures of our 2 grandkids so far. I will have to make another one for this years photos.

I used my gel pens from Chomas Creations to write their name and age on each tag and then attached their picture to the opposite side. I stamped with yellow, orange and green ink to give it a fallish feel and used EK Success Falling Leaves border punch on the top of the pages. I covered it with polka dot cardstock from the DCWV "All Dressed Up" stack. The "smile" rub-on is from American Crafts IM Phrases and the ribbon is from Offray.

Little Princess turned 3

Our granddaughter turned 3 this week and her mommy turned 24 the day before her. We had a little party at the house on Tuesday but her big party will be on Saturday at Chuck E Cheese. She wanted everything to be Princess because she thinks she is one.

I used the Paperdoll Dress Up cartridge to cut the princess and her outfit at 2". Her face of course is from Peachy Keen Stamps Everyday Character Face Assortment. The castle is a Quickutz die that I embossed with the Cuttlebug Tiny Mosaic folder. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Fillable Frame Set #4 and the frame is from Set #8. The little princess crown on the inside of the invitaiton is from Spare Parts.

Some more Cards

The first card I made is for a friends birthday. I used a file from Cuttin' Up Designs.  I used AR Cena font for the Happy Birthday and inked up the edges with walnut stain Distress Ink by Tim Holtz. The ribbon is Offray GGPinDot that I purchased at WalMart. I embossed the card, to make it look like they are in a field, but I don't remember the name of the folder I used.
This Christmas card was made from a  Quarterly Membership Club file at Visual Designs by Chris. I added the "Dreaming of a" and outlined with Gelly Roll Glitter Pen. I used white flocking on the tree and some stickles for ornaments.
These 3 cards were all made using Provo Craft Disney Cuttlebug dies. The banner is from an Embossing Plus folder and I inked the embossed part with walnut stain Distress Ink. I used a white gel pen to trace Mickey and Minnie and the banner says "Meet Me Under the Mistletoe"
