Creative Card Borders

The Make It Monday #175 challenge, over at Paper Trey Ink, this week is to make cards with creative borders without using an actual border die.  School starts on Tuesday and I thought it would be nice to send a card to the grand kids teachers. We have a 4th grader, 1st grader and preschooler this year. Only one more and they will all 4 be in school.

I have been Busy

I have been neglecting my blog shamefully and for that I apologize.
However I have still been creating things.
Some of the projects here may have been seen on facebook and some have not been posted anywhere until now.
This easel card with a drawer was inspired by a Digital Delights by Louby Lou tutorial on YouTube.
I made this shadow box to hang in my craft room.
You can find it and all other letters in the Silhouette Store.
The letter "G" is Design #59424
I am not yet sure what my plans are for this Butterfly shadow box.
Silhouette Store Design #44808
You can find this fabulous coffee cup in the Silhouette Store Design #56927
The ribbon and flair are from 3 Girl JAM
The twine is from Trendy Twine
Stamps are from the PaperTrey Ink Bold Bouquet Anniversary Stamp Set
This is a post it note holder inspired by My Chic 'n Scratch.
I used PaperTrey Ink Dress Form and Notebook dies and buttons.
The ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.

These cute little Easter box cards were turned into this Happy Easter treat for work.
The cut file is Design #56147 from the Silhouette Store.

Relax

My project today is a gift card holder and coordinating envelope for Mother's Day.
My mother loves her pedicures so I thought I would get her a relaxing spa day.
(no Kmart does not do spa days but it was the only card I had handy at picture time)
The sentiment and flip flops are from the brand new "flipflops2stamp" stamp and die sets from The Stamps of Life.
I used 3 Girl JAM Harvest Orange and Sunflower crinkle ribbon to make the sentiment pop and add a double bow.
I used the We R Memory Keepers envelope punch board to make the envelope and the wrap was made using Papertrey Inks Notched Hearts Banner die collection.

You Are My Inspiration

Let's see if I remember exactly how this is done. It has been almost 8 months since my last post but hopefully I will be more regular about things now.

I made a card for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday #162: Paper Scrap Pie Charts
I used tons of paper scraps along with PTI Autumn Rose Ink and Cardstock.
The stamp and die set used were Phrase Play #1.

Party Treats

It is time to start auditioning holders for the kids Halloween treats.
These are the very first for 2013.
I really like the envelope holders. They are just the right size for a smaller candy. I used some of the new jute string from 3 Girl JAM behind the little rossette. The little image is from the Pink by Design Guess Who stamp set. She is perfect for a 6 year old girl.

The box is a little too big for Halloween treats. If I put a mini candy bar in there it would get lost. I used Tuxedo Black crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl JAM around the top and really like how it finished off the box. The little pumpkin is also from Pink by Design Guess Who stamp set and is very cute but an 8 year old boy might think he is too baby-ish. So this holder may be saved to give to another little boy.

I am entering my treat holders in 3 Girl JAM's 2 Year Celebration Hop. Be sure to check it out.

Almost Halloween??

Is Halloween almost here? I have had it on the brain for a while now.
My first project is using Witch Mercedes from Simply Betty Stamps for her facebook challenge. I also added some of my favorite ribbon from 3 Girl JAM.
My next project was a joint effort with my boss. She made the court house step blocks for the top and bottom and I appliqued the cute little trick or treating ghost and then put it all together.
Last but not least has nothing to do with Halloween but is a cutie anyway. This is one of the projects I made during my time working at the state fair. I embroidered a Loralie design on this kitchen towel. I have Loralie fabric and embroidery designs and one of these days I WILL have some of her stamps.
