Altered Carousel

Happy Monday All

I am so sorry I have been neglecting my blog lately but hopefully things are calming down and back on track. The new grand is home and settled in. He was born with pnemonia and spent a week in the hospital but is doing great now. I started a job about a month ago so that was a bit of an adjustment. Working from home for over 20 years and then getting a job outside the home took a little getting used to. I miss being with the grands all the time but also really like my job. The grands live with us so we are still together a lot.
I have been having some fun and still doing some reorganization. (in my case this seems like a never ending process) I totally loved the way my fellow DT sister Cheri from DJ's Sundries was housing her 3 Girl JAM ribbons and decided to copy her storage idea.

This is a carousel for pens and pencils that I altered and now it houses my entire stash of 3 Girl JAM goodness. All ribbons and twine are wound on craft sticks. There is even room for my canvas strips, burlap and bow maker in the middle. It is adorned with Halloween Harvest crinkle ribbonBurlap and Vintage Buttons. This takes up less space than my old storage and I can see all the gorgeous colors right out in the open. I stamped the sewing machine from Pink by Designs "Sew Lovely" stamp set.
I glued a magnet on the side and another to the bottom of this container to hold all my Vintage Buttons. If you are wandering about the little sign I will be putting photos of my 4 grands on this side also. When my daughter was a little girl I called her Tara Beara so it continued with my grands and they are all my little bear cubs!!!
The bottle cap is from Spare Parts and I added a couple Vintage Buttons and more burlap to this side. The sentiments are from Pink by Designs "Crop til you Drop" and "Faith" stamp sets.
I stamped the sewing machine again on some more burlap for this side.
Here is a view from the top.
This was my old ribbon storage method.

Yummy Treat Box

Good Monday Everyone!
It has been such a busy week around here.  It feels good to have my crafty studio back in order and having some fun again. One of these days I will have to do a video showing my room. It feels much more open now that I removed a lot of stuff and passed it on to freecycle.

Well on to my project. This is a super cute box that can be used for so many things. I used mine for some yummy Hugs and Kisses. The bow was made with some delicious Hot Chocolate crinkle ribbon and the flower is rich, deep Merlot crinkle ribbon topped off with a Vintage Button. I totally love this combination!!
The box was made using a tutorial from Pink by Design (it is 26 minutes into the ustream and the piece that is supposed to be 9 x 5 you need to cut at 8 3/4 x 5). The sentiment is also from Pink by Design "Enjoy the Journey".

So now that I have given you some Ribbon Flower inspiration make one of your own and link it up to the current 3 Girl JAM challenge HERE.

My Bears have been having FUN!

The grands are out of school and we have been having some fun playing around in the craft room.
When my daughter was young (and even now sometimes) I called her my Tara Beara. When the grands were born I got my Brycee Bear and then Kylie Bear and Ali Bear. They are all my bear cubs. So how great is it to make bears with my Bears!!!

When Bryce and I craft together he likes for me to pick things out but that is where my help is to end. Here is how the covo goes "Oma let's make something." "What do you want to make?" "I don't know you pick." "How about a bear?" "OK." So I get out the Cottage Cutz Tear Bear and box of paper scraps. We cut our bear parts and I say "OK here are the arms." "I know that (with a little attitude)." "These are the legs." "I know OMA! I know!! I can do it MYSELF!!!" lol He is getting so independent.
These sentiments are perfect because they are 2 of his most favorite words.
Kylie and I made this next card together. She is the total opposite from Bryce. She plays the supervisor when we do most things. She hunts through everything, picks them out and then tells me where to put them. She has to have Stickles on every project. Pink is her VERY favorite color and then purple if there is no pink. She is totally our family DIVA.
We used "Cherry Lipstick" crinkle ribbon and some fabulous vintage buttons from 3 Girl JAM on our projects.
