Getting Cricky DT post

Yeah today is my Getting Cricky DT post.
We are showcasing K Andrew Designs
stamp set.

I am getting sad because my time as a Design Team member is coming to a close. Only 1 month and it will be over but I am having as much fun as possible while it lasts. If you would like to become a member of Kristal's amazing design team there is still time to apply. Just click HERE to find out all the details.

I have been making lunchbox notes for the grands all summer so that I would be ahead of the game when school started. I can not believe that the kids are going back to school in just 2 weeks. It feels like summer just started and already it is over.

Here are 6 tags for my grandson. They were so fast and fun to make. I can write a message on the back and he can use it as a bookmark as well.
Mistletoe and Harvest Orange crinkle ribbon
Goblin Green and Sunflower crinkle ribbon
Ice Blue and Blue crinkle ribbon
All crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM

and of course all the sentiments are from K Andrew Designs "Even More Food for Thought"

Olive You Easel Card

Happy Friday everyone, today is my 3 Girl JAM post. I hope you all have been having a wonderful week. I have been busy making all kinds of different notecards and it has been loads of FUN.
I have to say this is such a super duper cute easel card. It was made using a PTI jar die. I ended up cutting it 3 different times for this card. The bow was made with "Goblin Green" crinkle ribbon and the help of 3 Girl JAM's new Beautiful Bow Maker which is July's special and comes with some really pretty "Summer Sprinkles" crinkle ribbon. The sentiment and hearts are from K Andrew Designs "It's Valentines" stamp set.

Remember you still have 4 days to apply for the
3 Girl JAM Design Team!!

I am entering this card in the weekly challenge at Made Especially For You.

Viewmaster Notecards

These cards are so much fun and the kids have been loving them.
I was able to fit 4 images on each wheel.
The little images are from Paper Studio "Summer Fun" Barrel of Stamps. I colored them in with some LePlume II markers and atyou Spica pens
The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs "Sweet July" stamp set.
I cut the banner using the Papertrey Ink "Double-Ended Banners" die.

Check out "dostamping" on YouTube. She has some fantastic tutorials.

Layers, Layers, Layers

Hiding in My Craft Room wants to see lots of layers for their challenge this week.
I found a tutorial on YouTube called Easy Triple Time Stamping that uses 6 layers of cardstock for a very cool effect.
I made 2 notecards trying this technique and really need to practice a little bit more. They did turn out pretty cute though. Note: I did change the way the cardstock is layered from the way it is shown in the tutorial.
When I was taking the pictures I realized that I had stamped the inside of the wrong card so I will be adding a mat to the inside. See happy accident. lol

I used 3 Girl JAM "Summer Sprinkles" crinkle ribbon and "Sunshine Yellow" twine. The "Summer Sprinkles" crinkle ribbon comes with the 3 Girl JAM Beautiful Bow Maker through the month of July.
My petite little bow was made using the Bow Maker and it was so very simple and turned out just perfect.

I'm baaaack!

Holy cow it has been over a week since I last posted. I didn't think it had been that long but then again my mind and emotions have been on other things. There has been so much daughter drama around the house and mom has been on vacation for almost 2 weeks so I've had my head full of things.

For those that don't already know we have 4 generations (7 soon to be 8 bodies) living under 1 roof. Our daughter and 2 grands moved in with hubby and I almost 2 years ago. Then a few months later our basement was finally finished and my mom moved in. My daughter had our 3rd grand in June of last year and is now due with our 4th grand in October. Right before the 4th of July all H-E-double hockey sticks broke loose with the daughter and my emotions went on a Six Flags roller coaster ride for a while. lol

Well things have settled down a little (or I've just taken better control of my head and heart) and I am feeling like creating. Yep the mojo is coming back a little bit. I have been working on a couple of things that can't be shown yet (birthday cards and shower decorations) but here is a card I made a short time ago.
This is "007 Betty" from Simply Betty Stamps colored with Spectrum Noir markers.
The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs "Fashionable Friends" stamp set.
I used a 1" Glue Dot to make a flower with 3 Girl JAM "Sterling" crinkle ribbon and added a "Vintage Button" also from 3 Girl JAM.

I am entering this card in the Simply Challenged Challenges - Anything Goes

3 Girl JAM DT Day

TGIF my crafty friends. Gloria here from Oma's Crafts.

I hope you all had a wonderful July 4th holiday last week. The past 2 weeks have been so stressful around here. My mom headed down to Florida on Tuesday for a visit with my sister and her family. My neice just had a sweet little baby girl and I think great-grandma was excited to welcome the new addition to our family. There has been a lot of drama around our house lately and believe me mom needed to get away from it all and recharge herself. If I could have managed it I probably would have run away with her.

So for my DT project I made a card to go along with baby Erin's gift.
The clothes line was made with 3 Girl JAM's "Green Apple" twine. Didn't it turn out terrific. This twine is thicker than most so it was absolutely perfect.
I also used Papertrey Ink's "Hanging Out' stamp set and die for the baby clothes and the sentiment is from K Andrew Designs "In the Family" stamp set.

Quick Bookmark

This is a bookmark I made for hubby. He is a total bookworm and even though he has a nook he still likes the old fashioned way of reading.

Believe it or not we still have a library of books. Things have scaled down a bit over the years but there are still those paperback and hard covers that you can't part with no matter what.

I have the complete Left Behind series that I like to re-read every so often. I also love James Patterson (mostly the Women's Murder Club) Hubby is into Sci-Fi, Science and guns.
So do you think he will be able to concentrate on reading? lol
I used Papertrey Ink's "Bookmark" die to make the actual bookmark and added some "Krazy for Kraft" Trendy Twine for the tassel.
The image is "Samantha" from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.
The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs "French Thanks" stamp set.

Spectrum Noir Storage

I have had a few Copic markers (69 to be exact) but when I found the Spectrum Noir markers I was sold. The complete set of 168 markers probably cost me less than my 69 Copics did. I am a crafter not an artist so the Spectrum Noir's are perfect for what I need and perfect for my pocket book also.

So since I got all these beautiful markers I have been trying to find the perfect (for me) storage for them all and I finally found it. I was at Office Max this weekend and saw this wire basket (here is a link) and thought that would be perfect. So I brought it home and asked hubby if he had any good ideas for a metal rod to go through the wire in both the front and the back and also be secured enough not to slip out of the wires.
Here is everything I used. The machine screws he got because they have both a screw and a nut. I didn't need the screws. I'm sure somewhere out there you can get a package of just nuts but let's just say hubby isn't the best at looking around. So now I have all these screws that I don't need and no nuts to go with them because I used them all for my marker storage. lol
The threaded rod is 3 feet long and I got 4 pieces out of each one so I used a total of 7 rods.
I cut a piece of foam core board to fit in the back so the markers would stick out a little more (easier to grab that way).
Here is a view of the 2 rods.
This is the side of the wire basket . I still have room for at least 36 more markers (if they come out with new colors) but for now I have my distress markers on the top.

I usually don't need to take my supplies anywhere but if I ever need to this set up could go with me as long as I was careful not to tip it upside down.

Simply Sunday "Summer Celebrations"

If you are looking for the 3 Girl JAM "Beautiful Bows" Blog Hop click HERE
-----------------------------------------------------------
This month's Simply Sunday Challenge at Getting Cricky is....
"Summer Celebrations"

Summer time to me is all about the County Fair, the State Fair, the store parking lot carnival and on and on. Thank goodness we do not have a year-round amusement park in our town or the kids would have us bankrupted with ride tickets.

One thing I noticed at the state fair last year was a hot air balloon. I have always wanted to take a ride in one but I have this fear of heights that prevents me from even attempting it. One day I am going to face this fear but I think I am going to need someone with arms made of steel to go with me so I don't dig my nails into their bones. lol

So, for my "Summer Celebrations" project I made a hot air balloon.
I used K Andrew Designs stamp set

3 Girl JAM "Beautiful Bows" Blog Hop

Oh My Goodness the day has finally arrived. I have been bursting at the seams to let the secret out. You can ask my family how horrible I am at keeping secrets. If I shop for Christmas too early I will end up telling everyone what I got them so I always wait til the last minute.

If the Iowa Craft Girl, Avery sent you over then you are in the right place. If you just happened along my blog then you will want to go visit the 3 Girl JAM blog and start from the beginning.

I hope you have been enjoying all the Beautiful Bows along the hop.
For my projects I have made some more lunchbox notes for the grand kids. They really like the fancy notes instead of just a little written note so I am trying to get ahead of the game this summer.
Only 1/2 of my projects have bows because the grandson would dis-own me if I tried to sissy-fy his cards.
Antique White crinkle ribbon
Witches Brew crinkle ribbon
Red-White-Blue crinkle ribbon
All the fruity dies and stamps are from Papertrey Ink
All the sentiments are from K Andrew's "Food for Thought" and "Even More Food for Thought" stamp sets.

You will probably be seeing many more bows on my blog from now on, that's for sure.
